This is taking so long.
This knitting is nice, but it sure is taking me a long time to finish a project. I'm about halfway into the shrug I started. I'm really excited to get it seamed so I can knit with the circular needles. Ultimately I'm ready to have it seamed and finished so I can wear it!!! I'm not rushing though because it's already gotten much warmer here in Texas and I probably won't be wearing it until the fall. :(
Here's something that should be finished within the next couple of weeks, though.
It is going to be my first felted project. An awesome looking needle roll from here. I'm hoping to get this one finished as soon as possible so I won't get discouraged from knitting.

It's been too long...
I kinda forgot I was doing this. After our move back in September so many things have happened. I gave birth to our son on September 1st, then developed a breast infection 6 weeks later and had to have surgery to get it removed. After being traumatized by that and being depressed about not being able to breastfeed my son, here I am many months later. The new year has come and I'm in a much better place.
Over that time I have crocheted blankets, clothes, and even moved on to attempting to freehand many other things. Some came out disasterous, but I am learning. On the note of learning, I am currently learning to knit. It's not as hard as it seemed to be before. I am working on my first project from Caron, the Simple shrug. It may be a little more difficult than a beginning knitter would attemt to knit, but my first crochet project was a baby blanket.
Yeah, I like to jump right in!!!!

Here's what I have been working lately. I tried learning knitting and just don't have the patience to learn how to do anything other than knit or purl. So I tried my hand at freehanding a couple items. Here are my designs. The purse ended up being the perfect size for my 6 year old daughter. The inspiration came from this Sak bag. I made it using Caron Simply Soft.
Now this is something I made more for my boyfriend to change his mind about my crocheting. I worked it up really quickly using Lion Brand Microspun in fuschia.

Nix the hats. I decided after a couple of tries that making a floppy brimmed hat is not going to turn out the way I would like. They are nice, yes, but I'll just buy one instead.
Now I've decided to freehand a pair of thong panties out of crochet thread and make a bag similar to the Diana Medium Hobo found at The Sak website. I'm anxious and can't wait to see how they turn out!

Ok, so I made this top by smrfchic from craftster several months ago. I modified it to fit my one year old daughter. I'm so happy with it!!!!

I decided today to crochet a floppy brimmed hat for hanging out in the sun. I may have found one I like, but I'm thinking that I might end up designing one on my own. I'll make a few practice hats to see how they turn out. Here is the first one I'm attempting. Next I might try this one. And finally this only with a longer crown and brim. I just hope that I will be happy with something I find. Talk at ya next time!!!

It's Just The Beginning
I've decided to start this thing up and see how it goes. I'm a 24 year old stay at home mom with soon to be 3 children. Marissa is 6, Ava is 1, and "baby boy" will be here in August. I'm attempting to enjoy the freedom I have left before "baby boy" arrives. Not sure how I'll handle everything, but I will soon find out, eh? I don't know how you guys with 4, 5, 6+ children do it,, but big ups to you. It probably helps to put some distance between each one. LOL. Well, everything happens for a reason.
Feel free to leave any comments, good or bad. I learned to crochet last November and have since become addicted to it. I will post some of my recent projects very soon. Enjoy!!!
